Energy Support Services was conceived out of an owner-based perspective of maintaining and operating all aspects of Minnesota Community Solar Garden projects. We know what works, what does not, best practices, and what should be avoided at all costs. Our asset management delivers bottom-line results, stakeholder compliance, periodic reporting, and other services. Our in-field technicians are safety-focused, highly trained, and experienced in the local nuances (including the utilization of snowshoes in the winter months!). We take pride in returning systems to service correctly and rapidly and are both English and Spanish-speaking solar professionals.
Energy Support Services is compliant with all Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry’s electrical and licensing requirements. It is not widely known, but MNDLI requires solar contractors to pull permits for all extension or modification of wiring on a solar array. Common O&M activities that require permit pulling include all module and inverter replacements. ESS is experienced in navigating both the State permitting office and the 70+ municipalities that oversee their own permitting requirements.

Our monitoring and asset management teams are located in Annapolis, Maryland while our field technicians live in the vicinity of our Minnesota portfolio and are prepared for constant travel for preventative and corrective maintenance needs. As a member of the Amicus Solar Cooperative Network, we partner with the O&M community to provide corrective maintenance work around the United States.
Some of our more time-sensitive owners prefer an on-site response time guarantee versus either an availability or a performance one. We are rolling this out for several of our larger customers. The Promise is that Energy Support Services will respond to a full system outage within the same calendar day or the service trip is on us.
